A rare heavy copper cooking pot by Elkington & Co. the company that produced kitchen ware for the White Star Line, the shipping company that owned the Titanic.

 

This pot was made for Trinity College Kitchens in 1935 and this is clearly stamped in the metal.

 

It is manufactured in copper, however the lining is of pure nickel, which was according to Elkington “impervious to food acids and practically everlasting to wear” as quoted in Elkingtons 1932 catalogue.

 

It has a beautifully aged copper patina, however would polish up if desired.

 

A stunning pot for utensils in the kitchen or artists brushes and equipment. Alternatively it would be a stunning vase.
