I am totally in love with this french folk art salt box. 
Made for a purpose and used to within an inch of its life! 
The box is wooden and in true “salvage what you have” style the hinge was made using a piece of leather. Glorious original light green paint with all its superb patina. 
A fabulous piece for the rustic kitchen or hang it in the hall for the keys. Alternatively hang it in the downstairs loo and put the paracetamol in it!
