A fabulous vintage illuminated hospital sign. 
This large heavy teak light box would have hung above the doors of the operating theatre, to warn people wanting to enter that the theatre was occupied! 
A superb decorative piece in the home can be freestanding or wall hung, however it would need to hung near a socket or hard wired by a qualified electrician. 
It has been rewired and re-lit with LED lighting, so will not get hot and is inexpensive to run.
